We aim to elucidate the etiology and pathogenesis of the determining causes of dementia that has been growing rapidly as well as to develop new methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention based on this understanding. Moreover, we aim to deepen our understanding of higher brain functions to overcome disabilities that affect those capacities, such as learning, memory, motivation, and sensibility, that form the basis of leading a humanistic and fulfilling life even in the context of a super-aged society.
