We will study developmental mechanisms of the brain in children and fetuses, who are generally susceptible to disability from various factors, such as encephalitis, cerebral palsy, brain malformation, fetal brain cancer, and metabolic disorders, as well as regenerative mechanisms involved in nerves injured by trauma or disease. By understanding these mechanisms, we aim to develop new methods for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of developmental brain disorders as well as ways to support social reintegration and nerve regeneration.
