- Abstract: Event‐related potentials, measured eight times in a patient in the early stages of dementia, demonstrated that clinical symptoms, especially loss of motivation, improved coincidentally with a shortening of reaction time, N1 latency, and P3 latency during nicergoline medication among three nootropics prescribed. Such a longitudinal study design was considered to be useful for quantifying and objectively comparing effects of various nootropics non‐invasively. Copyright © 1992, Wiley Blackwell.
