Fumika Koyano (Ubiquitin Project) was awarded the fourth “The tomorrow’s symbol prize” in the medical and biological research.

Fumika Koyano won the fourth "The tomorrow’s symbol prize” in the medical and biological research in the awarding ceremony held in "Tokyo Prince Hotel" on November 10, 2015.

Our project clarified that "PINK1, Parkin, and phosphorylated ubiquitin abrogates the onset of Parkinson's disease by managing mitochondrial quality in cells.

As for this receiving a prize, the contribution to the findings described above was evaluated.

The purpose of this prize is to activate the mood of pursuing innovation among whole young generation.

The prize rewards the leading individuals (35 years or younger) in the field of medical care, public health, and life science.
