We are recruiting highly motivated graduate students (master and PhD courses) who are interested in exploring the mechanisms of genome replication and its implication in cancer and other diseases as well as novel roles of replication/ checkpoint/ damage-response factors in differentiation and development of human. We are also trying to uncover the novel messages on the genome delivered by the “shapes” of DNA. We are particularly interested in the physiological and pathological roles of G-quadruplex structures.

Springer book “Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology”  series の “DNA Replication: From Old Principles to New Discoveries” (Editors: Hisao Masai and Marco Foiani)が出版されました。この本では、真核細胞DNA複製研究の権威であるTom Kelly教授に”Historical Perspective of Eukaryotic DNA Replication”の章を記載していただくとともに、DNA複製研究の最新の知見が、全23章にわたってまとめられています。詳細はこちらをご覧ください。

2017年4月19日

正井リーダーが、「ゲノムDNA複製を制御するメカニズムの研究」に関する成果により、平成29年度文部科学大臣表彰 科学技術賞（研究部門）を受賞しました。

文部科学省では、科学技術に関する研究開発、理解増進等において顕著な成果を収めた者を「科学技術分野の文部科学大臣表彰」として顕彰しており、研究部門は、我が国の科学技術の発展等に寄与する可能性の高い独創的な研究又は開発を行った者を対象としています。

本日、文部科学省で表彰式が行われました。

Zhiying You 研究員の論文がNARに採択されました。本論文ではMcm複合体にDNA鎖をアニーリングさせる活性があることを初めて見出しました。
