Dr. Miharu Nakanishi of Mental Health Promotion Project and Mental Health and Nursing Research Team had made a presentation in the Japan-UK Dementia Conference.

As the meeting of the World Dementia Council was held in Japan on 13-14 March 2018, Nikkei and the Financial Times held the Japan-UK Dementia Conference on 15 March. The conference was organized as a joint project involving the WDC, Health and Global Policy Institute (HGPI), Nikkei, and the Financial Times. Several stakeholders in the issue of dementia countermeasures representing industry, government, and academia in Japan and overseas were gathered to share knowledge from Japan and the UK, and discuss in concrete terms how to create and make use of international PPPs.

Ms.Nakanishi who is a chief researcher of Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science, as a representative of the World Young Leaders in Dementia that is an associate member of the World Dementia Council, attended the meeting of the WDC. She also had a presentation at Session I ‘Current Challenges for Achieving a Dementia-Friendly Society: Narratives of Stakeholders’ in the Japan-UK Dementia Conference. She expressed the mission of the World Young Leaders in Dementia, and the rationales of developing dementia friendly communities.
