2013.08.23: Dr. Ono's paper "PLEIAD/SIMC1/C5orf25, a novel autolysis regulator for a skeletal muscle-specific calpain, CAPN3, scaffolds a CAPN3 substrate, CTBP1" has been published in J Mol Biol.

2013.08.01: Dr. Tonami's paper "Calpain-6 deficiency promotes skeletal muscle development and regeneration" has been published in PLoS Genet.

2012.09.22-26: XIIIth International Symposium on Proteinases, Inhibitors and Biological Control was held in Portorož, Slovenia, and Dr. Ono was awarded "The Best Poster Award" (1 out of all poster presenters).

2012.09.1-5: 41st EMC (European Muscle Conference) 2012 was held in Rohdes, Greece, and Dr. Ono was awarded "Young Investigator Award for Poster Presentation" (2 out of 101 poster presenters).

Recent progress (2): CAPN3 moves around inside skeletal muscle cells.

Recent progress (3): G-calpain is a complex of CAPN8 and CAPN9, protecting the stomach.
