Genome Dynamics Project

Greeting

Thank you very much for visiting the website of the Genome Dynamics in Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science. My name is Hiroyuki Sasanuma, and I have been appointed as the leader of this project since 2024.The Genome Dynamics Project has its origins in the Department of Cell Biology, which was led by Dr. Ichiro Yahara and Dr. Atsuko Sehara at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science (commonly known as Rinsho-ken). In 2001, Dr. Hisao Masai took over the Department of Cell Biology, which was renamed to the Genome Dynamics Project in 2004. Since the establishment of the Department of Cell Biology, pioneering research has been conducted with the aim of elucidating the fundamental operating principles of genomic DNA.As I assume the position of the new project leader for the Genome Dynamics Laboratory, I would like to express my deep respect for the great achievements of the previous leaders. I am committed to firmly carrying on the lineage of genome research that former laboratories has established and aim for further advancements. I look forward to your continued support and cooperation.
